This isn't me awake in the wee small hours before driving to Bristol for the Bristol Comic con. I'm getting a good night's sleep right now. Absolutely. Zzzzzzzzzz etc.

a) Bristol, seriously, it may well be one of the finest displays of my First Tea Company Travelling museum to date, there's like a separate room and everything, all I'm doing now is fretting that there's so much more I want to build! Fingers crossed we may even have Herr Doktor's Eterni-Tea working. See you there if you're coming!

b) Last weekend's London jaunt was ace! Comics!! I pick up Fetishman 15 "Vikings" from the printer later today just in time for Whitby Goth Weekend! Was really cutting it fine this time but am well chuffed about this one. There's like a plot! And cute manly Vikings! With a special cartoon from Genki Gear Phil and various lies about history! Oh yes. Will hopefully finish off the subscriber-treat while at Whitby so those guys should be getting theirs early may, fortunately for the rest of you I have 5 weekends of events ahead of me where you can track me down and discover my awesome new historically-improbable hypotheses about the vikings!

How Kit Cox made me fictional

The charming (and talented, but that's another story) Phil once joked that I was rapidly becoming a cartoon version of myself. At least I think he joked. Either way I figured it would be no bad thing if I got more nuns out of it.

So anyway, and then the delightful Mr Kit Cox proceeded to render me into a wholly fictional form as a part of his "Jack Union 1885" twitter story!

Kit, the man for him I first drew an air kraken (the "kill your velocity" warning poster is also a portrait of Kit, if somewhat small) has made a surprisingly accurate description of my dream abode/workshop. The question now is whether I should elope with him or torture him in an attempt to discover how he managed to pilfer the Top Secret plans for "Operation: Awesomeness".

Neglectful Geof is neglectful

So yes, I did vanish for a while there, sorry about that, it's taken a couple of months but I seem to have finally established a defensive cordon around the too-busy-to-draw-stuff problem from where I can make some surgical strikes to eradicate it utterly

… or, for larks, run away screaming, hide in a barn, meet David Essex, kill a priest, scream some more and then generally wait for microbes to sort it all out for me. Not a great plan I'll grant thee but why not stick to tried and tested methods eh?

So what have I been up to? I can't bear the word "networking" as I can't "network" to save my life (the high point of my "networking" skills was to ask one of the UKs leading physicists if they had any job. classy me.) but what I can do is drink lots of tea and chat over said tea and there has been a hundred fold of that. For example, if you'd not noticed me and the ever wondrous Steve Bobcat have started up the Leeds Steampunk Market events (which do indeed do exactly what they say on the tin). I'll go into more detail another time but suffice it to say good stuff is afoot.

April is full of event-ness but right now I shall be urging you to "Come say hello!" at the Birmingham MCM Expo this weekend, and/or Eastercon/Olympus the weekend after. The Travelling Tea Museum will be displayed in all it's glory at Eastercon if you'd like to see it in the flesh, and with the re-issue of the First Tea Company Identity/Warrant Card I have kind of volunteered to render a thousand portraits. Oh, and the guest at MCM and Eastercon are amazing (memo to future Geof: please refrain from calling George RR Martin an "awesome mother fucker" to his face).
