Some\u00a0ideas just have to wait. It's a shame, and you really want to do them, but\u00a0something\u00a0else always crops up. And\u00a0maybe\u00a0they mature a little and improve,\u00a0but\u00a0maybe\u00a0you should have just\u00a0done\u00a0them.<\/div>\n

So anyway, I've been\u00a0dying\u00a0to do a fake zeppelin-passenger safety leaflet for ages:\u00a0something\u00a0akin to the laminated flight safety things that only novice flyers and the truly bored look at, and that certain ladies and gentleman are required to\u00a0imitate\u00a0for your viewing pleasure ("the doors are located here, here and here"). And to make\u00a0it\u00a0work properly you need to stick to\u00a0some\u00a0rules and flagrantly break others: there can't be much text because it's intended for an international audience, but then there are the tiny footnotes that are usually only in a couple of\u00a0languages. So there\u00a0have to be\u00a0some\u00a0large obviously wordless bits because\u00a0other\u00a0wise it won't look right, but because it's\u00a0trying\u00a0to replicate a slightly pompous Victorian feel it needs lots of words. And\u00a0specifically\u00a0only in\u00a0English because it needs to\u00a0replicate a slightly pompous Victorian feel.<\/div>\n

Anyway, I finally did it and\u00a0I'm dead excite by it!\u00a0It's a mahoosive a1 piece (because if you need a nice\u00a0portable\u00a0set of safety instructions what's less\u00a0portable\u00a0than a very large piece of paper?) entitled "In the event of peril".<\/div>\n

And\u00a0I\u00a0kind\u00a0of\u00a0can't post it online because no screen is big enough to see the detail and the detail looks a bit odd\u00a0without\u00a0the rest of the poster. So you've got two options, I've posted an image and\u00a0some\u00a0detail\u00a0on the islandofdoctorgeof but in truth the best place to see\u00a0it\u00a0at the moment is the Steampunk Great Exhibition at Kew Bridge Steam Museum where it'll be until the end of august.<\/div>\n
