right, am mad busy organising next weekend's steampunk events but this weekend, if you can make it and\u00a0I'd\u00a0advise thee to as it are most awesome is the Leeds alternative\u00a0Comics\u00a0Fair. Jam packed with talented\u00a0small press creators and in a pub in the city\u00a0centre, it are an most excellent way to spend a lazy saturday afternoon.\u00a0Anyway, in their own words:<\/p>\n

The 3rd\u00a0Leeds Alternative Comics Fair<\/strong>\u00a0will take place on Saturday 1st October, in\u00a0A Nation of Shopkeepers<\/a>, Leeds, just behind the Leeds City Art Gallery.<\/p>\n

In keeping with previous events, our small but perfectly formed event hopes to bring you some of the best Northern, alternative comics makers, print-makers and illustrators, who will be selling their wares in the quirky, relaxed bar on Cookridge Street.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t like comics? There\u2019ll be lots more on offer, such as craft wear, badges, art and music.<\/p>\n

This event\u2019s guest list includes old friends such as\u00a0Steve Tillotson (Banal Pig)<\/a>,Hugh \u201cShug\u201d Raine (REET! Comics)<\/a>,\u00a0Gary Bainbridge<\/a>,\u00a0Andy Waugh<\/a>,\u00a0Gareth Brookes<\/a>,\u00a0Helen \u201cMemo\u201d Entwisle<\/a>,\u00a0Huw \u201cLem\u201d Davies<\/a>,\u00a0Ben Clark<\/a>,\u00a0Kristyna Baczynski<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Geof Banyard (Fetishman)<\/a>, who will be showcasing new work.<\/p>\n

New exhibitors include\u00a0James Downing (COUK)<\/a>,\u00a0Jim Medway<\/a>,\u00a0Isaac Lenkiewicz<\/a>,Kelly Walton<\/a>,\u00a0Bob Milner (Milk Two Sugars)<\/a>\u00a0and a cameo appearance fromDarryl Cunningham<\/a>, of\u00a0Psychiatric Tales<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0fame.<\/p>\n

We are also reintroducing the\u00a0communal table<\/strong>, giving non-exhibitors the chance to bring their comics along to sell. All we ask is that you help man the table for a short period of time.<\/p>\n

The event will run from 12 noon until 5pm and is\u00a0FREE<\/strong>\u00a0to enter! So come along, have a browse, a chat, a drink and a fish finger sarnie!<\/p>\n
