SABBATICAL! RAAAR!

by geof on 2007 October 10 at 12:15 pm

hmmmm. freak as i am i’ve decided to take a sabbatical … from making the fetishman comics. yes yes yes, i know, i’ve got a regular academic job i could take a sabbatical from but no. i’m taking a sabbatical from the comic making.

freak.

there’s a load of stuff i need to get done to keep the empire thriving and i’ve been a bit lax in the comix-pimpin’ of late. promotional stuff, distribution, i’ve got some awesome stuff on the burners that needs work: yes, the fetishman 12″ is more than just a terrifying rumour; a portfolio of prints for coffee, cake and kink; christmas cards and so forth; updating the website, myspace, and the deviantart repository. and then there’s also the other stuff: fat chunk getting taken on board by slave labor graphics and jamie’s asked me to contribute to issue 2 as well, a whole other website of rubbish and a comic that will make gilly cry if i don’t draw it.

this isn’t a break from updating the website – that’s going to stay weekly. issue 7 “the unexpected prequel” is already afoot and will be gracing the comic stores with yet more terribly sexy nun action from april 2008 with some hot nun flyering action in the run-up.

what can you do?

buy the comics: buying comics funds the making of more comics. find a comic shop that has yielded to my unearthly demands or simply get one posted to your door or portcullis from the fetishman shop:
www.fetishman.co.uk/fm/shop
at £2 including p&p it’s like a bargain but with more comedy gimp …

… and on the subject of comix-pimpin’ – come and join me and the fetishman-carnival for tea and illogic at any of the following:

birmingham international comics show 2007
saturday 13th – sunday 14th october, from 10am – 5.30pm
£6 saturday, £5 sunday, £10 for both days
thinktank, millennium point, curzon street, birmingham
http://www.thecomicsshow.co.uk/

whitby goth weekend II 2007
friday 26th – saturday 27th october, from 10am – 5pm
free in
at the noctule stall, downstairs at the spa pavilion
whitby, north yorkshire
http://wgw.topmum.co.uk/

thought bubble – leeds comic festival
Saturday 10th November 2007, from 10am – 5.30pm
£4 entry on the door, £3.50 in advance
the crypt of Leeds Town Hall, Leeds, West Yorkshire

CRY GOD FOR HAIRY BIG ONES AND SAINT GEORGE!

by geof on 2007 August 31 at 10:00 am

your weekly fetishman injection, inspired by the rantings of the tim, be up on the website

and now a request …

TO ARMS! FOR THE FETISHMAN EMPIRE!

in short: i’m swamped and i need help, and you want to provide it don’t you?

my unique skills lie in the twin arenas of a) creating comics of surpassing rudeness b) telling people what to do. i ~can~ do the retailling and the selling and the promotion and the web stuff (could you tell?) but frankly i am (i know, i can barely believe it myself) just one man and my comics time could be utilised better making of the comics. Thus this is an open request to any persons who have both time to spare and a desire to see me produce more comics. notably:

website stuff – you poor poor bastards
promotion stuff – make more people review the comic
retailling stuff – make more people stock the comic

as ever the wages of the fetishman empire ARE WHOLLY FICTIONAL but i’m sure there’s cake and comics in it for you.

THIS WEEK’S PRACTICAL:
give me names of shops you think’ll stock the comic – i and my team of elite ninjas will then harrass the shit out of them until they yield to my demands and/or stock the comic.

regards
geof

Welcome to the primordial soup of this comic. it is destined to be a hybrid of steampunk and science jokes, but as yet it’s simply a hybrid of my lack of knowledge regarding wordpress and a lack of sleep. I imagine these themes shall persist.

regards,

geof
