yep, so issue 5 of fetishman is now available at the online shop! woot!
and a question – shall i hire a stall at an upcoming comics convention and flog comics there? i doubt i’ll make back enough on the day(s) to cover the cost of teh stall, a place to stay (i don’t currently remember knowing anyone in birmingham i can impose on) and the train fare, but the exposure will probably be invaluable. any thoughts? the stall could do with a little more work but is basically there, so that’s not a worry, but then i’m supposed to have an exhibiton in london around that time too. gah. may just have to bite the bullet and go for it.

having uploaded a new comic to the website i can finally rest on my fortnight’s laurels:
– catching up with julian
– taking comics to the masses
(made a free comic for OK comics, with the last minute help of Wiiiiill *EDIT*and toby’s printer*/EDIT*)
– being invited to provide an exhibition for “the looooovre”
(aka the toilets in Coffee Cake and Kink. probably mid-december)
– taking science to the masses
(AIC annual conference)
– eating all the animals in africa (conclusion: “salty”)
– catching up with pat
– taking tea to the masses
(WGW queue to the pavillion , which i shamelessly enjoyed)
(my interaction with tea is quite possibly very, very wrong)
– taking smut to the masses
(Paul got the awesome flyer to my winged minions in time for whitby)
– getting red-carded at the WGW football. from the terraces.
– calling jen and sarah “winged minions” just now
– being challenged to a “tea off”
– being loved by the orange for 2 whole years! woot!

– issue 5 has returned from the printers! it’s so shiny! look, this man is so bedazzled by it he can’t even face the glare!
or perhaps he’s constipated. or perhaps he’s reading the comic ~with his mind alone~? further suggestions welcome.
– this is also an apology to mark for accidentally hijacking a wedge of his birthday celebrations last night. which were lovely. happy birthday again mark! x
– yep, it’s full of furries.
– and it’s finished in time for whitby goth weekend! where once again it will be available from the ‘noctule’ stall: the clothing and quality goth paraphernalia stall downstairs on the central island … typing that i’m thinking i should be able to come up with some more noticeable features, but the only one i can think of off-hand is IT’S GOT THE SHINY SHINY FETISHAMN COMIC ON SALE! easy.
– i’ll put it for sale on the website when i get back from whitby, but at the moment it’s for sale at the york and leeds branches of travelling man and OK comics in leeds (which peeps may be interested to know is having a free comic book night this thursday i believe) and very soon from GOSH and Coffee Cake and Kink in London.
– i love york. i must spend more quality time with my dearest ones there. i also love the sheer stupidity of the rowdy kids there. walking through york last night, dressed for all the world like a scruffy reject from the merchant navy, one cycled past and shouted “… and you can fuck off too Osama!”. special.
– flyers. maybe, just maybe. pretty pretty flyers. you’ll love ’em.

much to say:
1) new comic on the website.
this marks the start of a series of furry jokes prompted by a conversation with paul over a year ago, and for that alone you’ve got to love him. even if said furries kill me for it
… and whilst he has my gratitude, what i don’t have is the time to illustrate the ideas he had during that conversation. hence here’s a question for the illustratively-capable masses – is there anyone reading this who would like to be the artist for paul’s project? i’m not going to go into detail, but i can assure you it will be a lovely little piece of work. any takers?
2) here’s an interesting little thing – a history website is trying to collect a “picture of life in britain in the early twenty first century” by asking anyone who fancies it to fill in a short blog of their day and submit it. i like the idea. and that day is today.

3) is there a web developer out there who’s got some time on their hands?
i need to spend time drawing and frankly whilst i hanker to do some developing it’d probably be better if i didn’t. so, anyone up for doing the next incarnation of the fetishman site? i’d profit share but you can’t afford it, but i can promise comics. Moreover i’d like to put the comic on weekly and that needs me to do drawing.
The hosting has php and mysql but sadly it’s not got .NET so tim’s skillbase doesn’t quite match, however willing he is to help out. personally i was pitching for phpnuke or wordpress or somesuch … whatever really, so long as it could: manage content; automate the process of posting the comics; have a subscriber list and post the latest one out; syndicate via rss and lj and maybe myspace; i don’t know, a shout column, stuff that other webcomics have.
also today feels quite nice – the recent bout of madness amongst my dearly beloveds seems to be in remission (go team brad!) and the man that owes me the wongah just put the rest of what he owes me in to my account. ah. relax.
